Introduction

Demography is a cornerstone of population studies, providing insights into population dynamics, trends, and shifts over time. Decomposition analysis serves as a powerful statistical tool to understand the contribution of various factors to changes in demographic indicators such as fertility, mortality, and migration. Decomposition Analysis in Demography Training Course leverages cutting-edge methodologies in population analysis, equipping participants with the skills to dissect complex demographic data, generate accurate forecasts, and support evidence-based policy-making. Participants will gain hands-on experience with advanced software tools, statistical models, and real-world datasets to develop actionable insights for government, healthcare, and social research applications.

As global populations experience rapid transformations, demographers, data analysts, and policymakers require a deeper understanding of the underlying components driving population change. This course emphasizes practical applications of decomposition techniques, fostering analytical rigor and decision-making precision. Through case studies and interactive exercises, participants will master techniques for breaking down aggregate population changes into component effects, enabling informed interventions across public health, migration policy, urban planning, and socioeconomic development programs. By the end of the training, attendees will be proficient in translating demographic data into actionable strategies that address both current and future population challenges.
