Introduction

Access to sustainable and affordable energy is a critical driver of socio-economic development, yet gender disparities persist in energy access, utilization, and decision-making. Women, particularly in rural and marginalized communities, often face systemic barriers to energy resources, limiting their economic opportunities, educational attainment, and health outcomes. Gender and Energy Access Training Course emphasizes the intersection of gender and energy access, exploring innovative strategies to ensure equitable energy distribution while promoting inclusive policies and sustainable practices. Participants will gain insights into gender-responsive energy planning, policy advocacy, and community-centered interventions that amplify women’s voices in energy decision-making.

This course leverages a blend of participatory learning, case studies, and practical exercises to build capacity for integrating gender perspectives into energy access initiatives. By combining global best practices with local examples, participants will develop actionable solutions to bridge energy gaps, enhance energy efficiency, and foster resilience in communities. Trainees will acquire the skills to drive gender-transformative energy projects, promote clean energy adoption, and influence policy frameworks to achieve equitable and sustainable energy access.
