Introduction

Literacy is a fundamental human right and a cornerstone for socio-economic empowerment. However, gender disparities continue to limit equitable access to education, particularly for women and girls in marginalized communities. Gender and Literacy Training Course focuses on bridging these gaps by equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to promote inclusive literacy programs. By integrating gender-responsive approaches, participants will learn to design, implement, and evaluate literacy initiatives that empower all learners regardless of gender, enhancing social inclusion, equity, and lifelong learning opportunities.

This course combines theoretical insights with practical case studies, ensuring that participants can translate knowledge into action. It emphasizes gender equity, literacy advocacy, digital literacy, inclusive pedagogy, policy frameworks, and community engagement. Through interactive sessions, hands-on exercises, and collaborative learning, participants will develop the capacity to drive literacy transformation in diverse educational settings, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 5 on Gender Equality).
