Introduction

Gender inclusion in water and sanitation is critical for achieving equitable access, sustainable development, and community resilience. Women and girls often bear the primary responsibility for water collection and household sanitation, yet their voices are frequently excluded from decision-making processes. Gender in Water and Sanitation Training Course emphasizes gender-responsive water and sanitation management, integrating inclusive strategies, social equity frameworks, and participatory approaches. Participants will develop skills to mainstream gender in water resource planning, sanitation infrastructure, and hygiene promotion, ensuring that programs are both effective and socially transformative.

The course combines practical tools, case-based learning, and policy insights to enhance gender-sensitive interventions in the water and sanitation sector. Participants will explore innovative solutions, analyze real-world challenges, and design interventions that promote gender equality, health, and sustainability. By the end of this program, trainees will be equipped to implement gender-responsive policies, advocate for inclusive practices, and foster community-driven solutions that address the unique needs of all genders.
