Introduction

The Geomechanical Risk Assessment Training Course is designed to professionals with advanced competencies in rock mechanics, slope stability analysis, underground excavation safety, and subsurface hazard prediction. In today’s rapidly evolving extractive and construction industries, geomechanical risks such as rockfall, subsidence, seismicity, slope failure, and ground deformation pose significant operational, financial, and safety challenges. This training integrates modern analytical tools, field-based interpretation techniques, and advanced numerical modelling approaches to strengthen decision-making in high-risk geological environments.

This course emphasizes data-driven geotechnical engineering, AI-enhanced geomechanical modelling, real-time monitoring systems, and risk-informed design strategies aligned with global best practices in mining, tunneling, oil & gas, and civil infrastructure development. Participants will develop the ability to assess complex geological structures, interpret geotechnical data, and implement proactive mitigation strategies using cutting-edge technologies such as 3D geomechanical modelling, remote sensing, LiDAR scanning, and digital twin simulations. The program ultimately enhances operational safety, asset integrity, and regulatory compliance in high-risk environments.
