Introduction

Global migration has emerged as one of the most pressing issues in international politics, with governance structures shaping how states, organizations, and societies respond to migration flows. The Politics of Global Migration Governance Training Course examines the political, economic, and humanitarian dynamics that drive migration governance, addressing how international institutions, policies, and state-level strategies interact to create frameworks for managing migration. With rising global displacement, cross-border movements, and debates on sovereignty, the politics of migration governance remains a crucial area of study for policymakers, practitioners, and scholars alike.

The course provides participants with analytical tools to critically evaluate migration governance through a global lens. It covers contemporary issues such as human rights, refugee protection, labor migration, security concerns, and sustainable development, while highlighting political negotiations and policy frameworks at both regional and international levels. By blending theory with practice, the course equips participants with knowledge and strategies to engage in effective governance approaches that align with global standards while respecting national interests.
