Introduction

In todayΓÇÖs interconnected world, open-source intelligence (OSINT) has become a critical asset for humanitarian practitioners working in complex, high-risk, and rapidly evolving environments. The ability to gather, analyze, and validate publicly available data enhances operational planning, improves situational awareness, and strengthens response mechanisms. By leveraging digital footprints, geospatial data, social media content, and other open platforms, humanitarian organizations can address crises with timely and evidence-based interventions. Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) for Humanitarian Practitioners Training Course equips professionals with essential OSINT skills tailored to humanitarian operations, ensuring that they can protect vulnerable populations, manage information risks, and enhance accountability in global humanitarian missions.

This training integrates practical applications with real-world humanitarian case studies, covering essential techniques for collecting, analyzing, and verifying information in challenging contexts. Participants will explore ethical and legal frameworks, digital verification tools, advanced investigative techniques, and data security practices. By the end of the course, learners will be empowered with actionable skills to apply OSINT responsibly and effectively in disaster response, conflict monitoring, refugee protection, and crisis communications.
