Project Management

Training course on Participatory M and E for Rural Development and Community Programmes

Introduction

Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is a powerful approach to ensuring the success and sustainability of rural development and community-managed programs. By involving local stakeholders in the M&E process, this methodology fosters ownership, transparency, and trust among the communities being served. This training course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to implement participatory M&E systems that drive meaningful outcomes.

In rural development, traditional top-down M&E approaches often fail to capture the perspectives and needs of the communities they aim to benefit. Participatory M&E bridges this gap by empowering communities to actively engage in tracking progress, assessing impacts, and shaping the direction of development initiatives. This ensures programs are not only effective but also culturally relevant and aligned with local priorities.
