Training Course on Sustainable Livestock Pasture and Rangeland Management

Introduction

Sustainable livestock pasture and rangeland management is central to ensuring resilient food systems, reversing land degradation, and mitigating climate change. As global demand for animal products grows, so does the pressure on natural grasslands and rangelands. Training Course on Sustainable Livestock Pasture and Rangeland Management provides science-based, environmentally conscious practices that improve forage productivity, restore biodiversity, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and enhance animal welfare. It also emphasizes rotational grazing, regenerative agriculture, water-smart practices, and carbon sequestration—making it essential for livestock keepers, agri-preneurs, and land managers across arid, semi-arid, and sub-humid regions.

By integrating ecosystem-based practices with modern grazing technologies, this training enables participants to optimize pasture utilization while protecting land health. It highlights inclusive livestock systems, integrating indigenous knowledge and gender-responsive solutions to enhance social and economic resilience. Participants will gain actionable knowledge to transform grazing systems into productive, adaptive, and profitable enterprises that sustain livelihoods and ecosystems in the face of climate change.
