Introduction

Valuing ecosystem services has become an essential tool in environmental economics, sustainable development, and biodiversity conservation. Valuing Ecosystem Services Training Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to understand, assess, and apply the value of ecosystem services in policy-making, natural resource management, and investment decisions. Participants will explore economic valuation techniques, policy integration methods, and case studies demonstrating the importance of ecosystems in achieving climate resilience, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection. By the end of the program, learners will be able to integrate scientific, economic, and social perspectives into actionable strategies.

This course focuses on capacity building for policymakers, conservation practitioners, researchers, and business leaders to develop a practical understanding of how ecosystems provide essential goods and services. With an emphasis on natural capital accounting, cost-benefit analysis, and innovative valuation tools, participants will learn how to link ecosystem values to decision-making frameworks. The training ensures that stakeholders can align environmental stewardship with sustainable economic growth while addressing the challenges of biodiversity loss, land degradation, and climate change.
